Slide Shows

With the rise of digital photography in Internet publishing, the opportunity to create online slide shows and image-based projects has become seductive. For instance, a number of popular Web sites and programs have sprung up, and fallen, based around image-sharing and storage. But the best way to control and exhibit your digital photography is to do it yourself, as in the slide shows and projects demonstrated here.

PRESSDEMO.COM
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat is developing their online department, and we're focusing on photo galleries—online, everyone likes to look at pictures. Here's one we recently took part in, the 2nd annual Artisan Cheese Festival in Petaluma, March 2008. Take a look.

WELL-TRAVELED
For Slate.com's travel series, I worked as field producer and digital photographer on six trips to destinations including Paris, Scandinavia, Costa Rica, and Mississippi. Review the full list of Slate slide shows.

AMIGO DE CUBA
The hottest destination in travel today is Cuba, thanks to the collision between popular culture and unpopular politics. See the street life of Old Havana in this slide show.

JAZZ IN HEALDSBURG
For the 2003 Healdsburg Jazz Festival, I was only able to attend one show but put together an online photo gallery of that performance — with Joe Lovano and Bobby Hutcherson — and the festival finale, with Abbey Lincoln. Launch the photo gallery here.
