Panoramas
View from the Bridge of the Panama Canal
The
first locks on the Panama Canal is at Miraflores, on the Pacific
side, just a few miles from Panama City. This high view looking
east toward the Atlantic shows a blue tanker in the east-ward canal,
as the lock gates are about to close behind it. Construction on
the canal began 100 years ago, in 1904.
