On Assignment: Ecuador

You lookin' at me?

Early in 1996 I went to Ecuador to research the country in anticipation of Virtual Galapagos for the Web pioneer TerraQuest. Traveling first with photographer Denise Rocco and later alone, I explored the wilds and the wired in Ecuador, from Otavalo to Cuenca, along the central Avenue of the Volcanoes. The reports from that trip — a spontaneous "virtual expedition" — formed the basis for On Assignment: Ecuador.

Explore Ecuador with digital dailies and images, the way it was then. Optimized for Netscape 2.0, with frames.
