Isla Bartolomé, Galápagos

Sometimes known as Tower Island, Isla Bartolomé provides a rare overview of the surrounding islands from its volcanic summit. The Galápagos straddle the equator, 300 miles west of Ecuador; this is the archipelago where Charles Darwin began to formulate his Theory of Natural Selection upon his visit aboard the HMS Beagle in 1835.
